There are two lines called the High Line. One in New York City and one in New Jersey.
The New York Central "Highline" in midtown Manhattan which used to be an elevated freight branch is abandoned and for the most part, torn down. Very interesting section of railroad though. Siding that went right into the sides of buildings three or four stories above the street. There are talks about making it an elevated park now.
The other Highline is in New Jersey and is a section of the Pennsylvania Railroads Main Line, now today Amtrak Northeast Corridor. When built, it earned the name "The Highline" because the entire section of two-track main from Newark Penn Station to the Bergen Hill/North River Tunnels is elevated above street level and is high-speed rail.

Wow. I really love this. I'm not much of an advanced critique, so I can't offer anything other then words of praise. I love the colours of the trains as they go by. The lights are so pretty.
You can also see the cables/telephone/electric/whatever lines near the higher train passed. You can see they've been moving when they trains have sped by and it looks awesome.
The wires in this shot is the overhead catenary system which supplies power to the electrified trains. I'm surprised that they didn't vibrate as much as I thought they would as the trains passed at speed of 80+ MPH.
Again, thank you.

Don't think this is just another news article with the usual love deviations that have already hundreds of favorites! All of these deviations don't have even 100 favorites & they're the best!
Please watch them closely and show your appreciation! @

You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
